FAQ

Common Questions

How many sockets should a workshop have?

It depends on your tools and layout. A typical workshop benefits from a ring main with multiple double sockets every 3 to 4 metres along walls, plus dedicated circuits for high-load equipment.

Can I run a welder from a standard socket?

Most MIG welders up to 200A can run from a standard 13A socket. Larger TIG or MMA welders need a dedicated 16A or 32A circuit. We assess your specific welder and install accordingly.

Do workshop circuits need RCD protection?

Yes. All socket outlets in workshops must have RCD protection (30mA) under current regulations. We ensure full compliance on every installation.
